LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said a comprehensive strategy has been adopted for the provision of modern recreational facilities to the masses for which the Jallo Park will be developed on modern lines.

Also on Sunday, Shahbaz reviewed the Park and Ride project at Liberty Market, the chief Minister said this unique project would facilitate the people visiting Liberty Market for shopping. He said shuttle service and traffic arrangements should also be completed simultaneously.

The chief minister chaired a meeting to review traffic control management at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Shahbaz said Punjab and especially Lahore are facing severe traffic problems and immediate remedial measures be adopted for their solution. He said the performance of traffic police has also failed to meet the expectations of the government and the masses. He regretted that despite provision of sufficient salaries to the wardens, there performance is poor. He directed his advisor Jahanzeb Burki to submit recommendations regarding improvement of the traffic system. staff report/app
